What changes for a holder when a browser wallet adds native support for another asset while keeping its core security model intact?

OISY stated on Oct. 5, 2026 that native XRP is available to all users of its wallet. The update allows holders to hold, send and swap the asset on the XRP Ledger network inside the existing interface.

Functions Available to Holders

Users gain the ability to keep native XRP balances alongside other assets already supported by the wallet. They can view transaction history that loads additional records as they scroll and open a dedicated token details screen for XRP. These views give a clear record of activity without requiring external tools.

Send Process Details

The send screen shows recently used addresses to reduce manual entry. A warning appears if a destination tag is missing before a transfer completes. The interface also prevents a new send from starting until any pending transaction finishes. These steps help maintain accuracy during transfers.

Contact and Storage Options

XRP addresses can be saved in the wallet contacts list for repeated use. This storage sits within the same system used for other assets and removes the need to re-enter details each time.

Current Limitations

Custom tokens issued on the XRP Ledger are not supported at this stage. The release notes indicate this remains an area for later development.

Wallet Architecture

The wallet runs as open source code in the browser and operates on the Internet Computer. It supports Bitcoin, XRP, Solana and Ethereum among other networks. Key pieces are distributed across a network so that no single party holds the complete key at any time. This structure forms part of the wallet’s continued operation across multiple chains.

Ongoing Development

The addition of XRP Ledger support continues the wallet’s pattern of expanding asset coverage while preserving its existing security and interface rules. Release notes detail the specific sending safeguards and history features that accompany the new network. Holders receive these capabilities directly in the browser without separate downloads or account changes.

The Oct. 5, 2026 update keeps the focus on practical account functions. Users interact with native XRP through the same controls already familiar from other assets. The open source nature of the code allows external review of how these features are implemented.

Future updates may address additional token types on the XRP Ledger, though no timeline is provided in the current notes. The wallet’s distributed key model stays in place for all supported networks, including the new XRP access.
